So, it is official!!!!! Taylor will be officially our foster daughter on Feb 15th, 2013..We are so excited to be part of the next journey in her life. We look forward to having her in our family. For as long as she needs us we will make the committment to her. Our children are excited to have her too! Maeghan and Taylor share a room and they get along great. My prayer is that this would bring glory to God. I pray that this transition into our home would help her heal from years of struggles. I pray for Taylors parents that we could be vessels for God to help them heal too.

Praise!!!!
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
God does answer prayers!!!!
Our foster daughter, Taylor, came for an extended visit on Thurs. She helped us with the pasta dinner on Fri and spent the weekend. Her visit was extended to Tues (today) because she was going to attend a small christian school in our town to see if she would like attending. We borrowed a uniform from a friend, bought her new shoes and then I prayed......Sun night (after the SuperBowl) she was having a hard time falling asleep, I offered to pray over her but she wasn't quite ready for that so I sent her a prayer via text, praying for God's peace to overcome her and to alleviate her anxiety for her upcoming visit to the school the next day. Within minutes, she texted me back and said that she was getting tired and isn't it funny how God works. I wouldn't call it funny, I would call it LOVE.
Mon morning...I brought Taylor to school. Taylor was pouting a little and mad a comment about how she doesn't like when people tell her what to do.....She doesn't seem pleased with her uniform....or her shoes...I called in reinforcements.....my prayer warriors.....
I was a little nervous to see her, wasn't sure of her reaction to her day....SURPRISE...or should it be...she had a great day!!! She told me that she wants to go to school there..that it was the best first day of school she had ever had and she felt very comfortable. Praise God...should we be surprised? NO....we should expect these outcomes! God is ALWAYS in control of EVERY situation....
I am so proud of her and the choices that she is making. It may be difficult at times for all of us but we know that this is the path that God set before us and His plan is always the best!
Thankfulness
1Timothy 2:1
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and giving of thanks be made for all men.
I am so thankful!!! Thankful for all of the support from so many of my family, friends and strangers that came out to our Pasta Dinner. As I stood in the hall and saw a line of people coming in I was overcome with emotion. It was so overwhelming to me to see the love of so many people and to know that we were all partnering with God to fulfill his will.
Psalm 34:18
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
After such a long day of preparation and serving and cleaning we came home and crashed...It was so much work physically and emotionally but the best quote of the weekend was from our foster daughter...She said, "I can't wait for Bekru to come home, I love him already.".... I am so thankful for HER love to him.
We are one more step closer!!!!!
Thank you!!!
